Home sweet home

We made it home around midnight on Tuesday night. Immigration sucks in Atlanta BTW for future adoptive fsmilies. That's why we missed our flight. Thanks to all of you that came to the airport! I'm sorry we missed you.

Mateo slept most of the day yesterday. He seems to like his new digs. Kurt and I took him to his new pediatrician today. Poor guy got the evil "adoption blood draw". They took about 2 vials for various tests and 4 vacines:( We also have an appt at the International Adoption Clinic at the U of MN next week. He will need a cardiac appt soon as well so we can assess the his heart murmur and the heart meds that he's taking right now.

The doc did graph out his height and weight since birth. There was a BIG vertical jump between Feb and today. He looked at it and said, "Hmmm, that's odd, there's quite a spike here. What happened?" Kurt and I looked at each other and said, "Us. He has a family now." There's the proof that sometimes all it takes is love and affection:)

We are all unpacked but the house still looks like a tornado hit. But that's to be expected after being away for 6 weeks.

Thank you all so much for all the posted comments, emails, love, support and prayers along the way. It has meant the world to us. Most of all thank you to Mateo's birth mom. She has given us the best gift all.

This is not the end. It's only the beginning....

Don't worry this doesn't mean I'm done blogging;)

Ahh...home sweet home. There really is nothing like it, is there? No matter how chaotic it is. Enjoy showing off your little man and good luck with the doctoring. The adventure just begins!

It must be nice to be back home!
We noticed that our daughter has also gained a lot of weight during this past month, TLC seems to work better than anything else!
